Why do evangelicals ume no one's ever heard of Jesus Christ?

I understand that 'spreading the word' is a major part of their religion, but so many of them seem to act as though they're introducing people to Jesus as though it's been this great secret that people have been kept from. I mean, EVERYONE has heard of Christ, the Bible, etc. etc.
