Girls around 15 years old help plz- Uggs?

Im a 30 year old step mom of a 15 year old girl. I need a little help with xmas this year. She loves Uggs. I always see her in the knock off brand and thought she would love a real pair. My prob is I love the new sweater looking ones. They almost look crocheted with big ons on the side. Do you girls like those or am I showing my age and should stick with the original style? I know it depends on her and all that, but I want to avoid getting her somthing thats not "cool" I guess. Her usual style is victoria secret pink, and ambercrombie but very casual - slim hoodies and jeans most days. Thanks
