You can try to "impose you morals" on him however, you answered your own question by using the word impose. Are you sure that you understand the custom completely and that the "Marriage" is going to be as real as you are uming. As far as hating him, if he is following the cultural traditions of his country you should accept the reality of it and get on with your life after it is really none of your business and you will not change his culture no matter what you do.
