The sum of two consecutive squares?

Can someone explain this to me? My friend and I were doing this cross number puzzle, kinda like a crossword but with numbers and math. yeah we were really bored! And we couldn't figure that one out? We looked in the back of the book and the given answer is 841. But we cant figure out how to get to that? Any ideas?
